It covers about 40 blocks of the historic area. Carriage Ride We use Old South and Palmetto and they leave from the market about every 20 minutes or until they fill all seats. Little tip, do a carriage ride before 5 o’clock, b/c after 5pm there is a noise ordnance in the historic residential areas and you will not be able to get the full hour long tour.

  • MAGNOLIA PLANTATION & GARDENS $42 retail admission for 2 adults… (Southern Plantation) Take HWY 61 south, 15-20 min. outside of town. Also is located next to Middleton plantation. Magnolia plantation is structured more on the gardens and Audubon swamp garden. They offer a 30 minute home tour, petting zoo, nature tram, and a small horse pasture. Plan on at least a few hours at the plantation to really get the feel for life in the south.

Charleston Tours By Boat

  • FT. SUMTER --$32 retail admission for 2 adults -- (1 Hour Harbor Tour, 1 Hour at Fort) The fort is located on an island just off the peninsula. It is a civil war museum. It’s where the first shot of the civil war was fired. Excellent views for pictures. The boat ride to the fort leaves 3 times a day and leaves from the aquarium and patriots point. The times are located on the back of the brochure.

    • USS YORKTOWN --$32 retail admission for 2 adults-- Yorktown Located at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant just over Ravenal Bridge. It is the largest floating naval museum in the world with 3 ships, 1 submarine, 25 aircraft, and the Medal of Honor museum.

Once daily at 4:00pm Sat & Sun.

    • CHARLESTON PIRATE TOURS--$36 retail admission for 2 adults--Two hour walking tour that discusses the historical aspects of pirate life in Charleston. Admittance to the Powder Magazine allows guests to get a first-hand look inside one of Charleston’s historical landmarks. Tours depart Monday-Friday at 10:00am and Saturday-Sunday at 1:30pm. Reservations are required.

    • BULLDOG GHOST TOURS--$36 retail admission for 2 adults--90 Minute-- Ghost, Jail Tour & Graveyard Walks) Charleston has been on the history channel for being a ghost town. These tours are popular to do at night. Fun for the kids to do as well. Make a reservation because there are several different tours, times and pickup points. The office is located at the rainbow market, next to Wild Wing Café.
